Hi Wildtoy,

great to hear you guy's so fired up, if you want reliable minimum weight fibreglass foam sandwich hulls, the cost of getting them to N.S.W. is relatively low, compared to the cost of working out how to build them strong enough and light enough out of a mould. From what I heard Boyer even had some teething problems when he started building them out of what you call the association moulds.

Then there is the difference in shape, the Boyer moulds have less rocker and volume than the "assoc. moulds" this improvement within the rules, is why all the professionaly built boats in the last few years have come out of the "assoc. moulds".

But it is all a matter of what you want to achieve and how much money, or little, you can get what you want for isn't it . I think timber Mossies are the most viable option if you don't want to spend the money to buy hulls from the "assoc. mould".

Don't worry I realise a new set of hulls cost more money than some want to spend, including myself as I looked at it a few years ago when I was sailing Mossies. Life is like that, but it is one of the great things about Mossies, if you dig around for the right second hand boat you can get into it for only a $1,000. or so , then you just keep spending more on it . Sailing is like that.
