Mark,

The point was to bring the general public to our hobby, while racing can be fun, it would seriously limit the enjoy of your average Joe.

It's much like Nascar, while there may be 100 professional races, there are 1,000's each week due to local tracks in which it is crunch and bump time.

Nascar: Highly professional limited audience of die hards.
Local: Cheap good old fashion fun.

Now in the same light Lemans race even for spectators is a millionaire event, Joe public not invited. It was only in the 70's
when this race was for public, but evloved into a social class.

I vote for limited or different class of persons for racing, while the socializing enjoyment of sport is for general public.

You read the article, I am confused there were were person's in the late 60's that would tow a Hobie up and down the CA coast and accross the US
to attend socializing events.

Once again why would Hobie publish such an ad, it seems the past in which was the birthright has been forgotten.

If you contend this just converse with Europeans, they haven't lost the Hobie spirit of socializing first, racing second and on-upmanship a never thing.

I say bring on the past.

Mike
