Wait now! Andrew, you were PORT. That's why I gently reminded you that I was starboard.
Wind was out of the NE, you were sailing E, I was sailing N. At a crossing, you lose and must back off EARLY. Tacking to avoid you would have (and did) put me into the channel marker.

Perhaps my recollection was wrong... but i thought we were both on a starboard tack (as we were all leaving the beach, headed south to the bridge)... As i was about to tack away from the marker and you came in front of me and yelled "Fockholepunkter".
Are you saying you were south of me and coming up to the same point as me, and some how turned in front of me and then hit the marker???
I need a diagram... do you have a witness? Is there a police report?
