I guess my question is; is there a maximum spinnaker luff length (I'm sure there must be) and if my spinn is at the maximum luff length (assume) and my hoist is at the maximum, then I need to raise my pole tip somehow, to get the tack at the tip while the head is at the hoist block, because right now it's about 6" short. I guess I would have to cut my jib lower rod a few inches (where the pole connects to the jib strut) to get that pole tip up? Or get some Viagra for my spin pole? <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Gilo, I too have a knot (and twing ball) on my halyard to keep me from raising it too high (too tight a luff) since it doesn't reach the hoist block if the tack is at the pole tip. Maybe that's why they are doing it?
