Rolf, by point I meant going high in medium to light wind to try to get the hull up. I always let off some halyard when doing that to flatten the entry as described earlier. I don't recall the leach flapping 6mo. ago so maybe it is stretched out from the winter racing in big wind. I will try to install a leach line, see what happens, and check on the pole length, but I don't think cutting only 6" off it will fix the tack to hoist block issue. I do try to set the luff tension so I can twist my fist 90 degrees on the beach.
