They don't get to have their cake and eat it, too - they have to repay their unemployment if they get back pay.
How do you audit that?
Duh, the honor system... geeesh.
They have a way of finding out... My brother collected unemployment for a week when he started a new job and the benefits were in place. It was a glitch in their system as they ran the benefits to the end of the period not his new job start date which he informed them of. He thought this was the norm and didn't put much to it..
Needles to say they came to him a year later and wanted the money back for the extra week...
