Why would the 'tree-hugging communists*' lie about the state of things? They don't stand to gain from it unless they've invested in sustainable technology.
Everyone has an agenda. Forcing social change? Up-ending the "Haves" and "Have-Nots"? Solidifying political power? I could care less what your motives behind your agenda are.
The only thing I care about is the fact that your side is the one sticking its unwelcome finger in my face and trying to make me feel guilty for living the lifestyle I do.
So what do I do? I revel in my perceived obscenity. Its frankly liberating to know that I can bother people so much simply by being who I am.
*BTW, a compliment, considering that the first in the general record to put forth truly Communist ideas was Jesus Christ...
I'm sure Jesus and ole Joe Pa Stalin are sitting up there sipping Vodka tonics and looking down at us saying "CHRIST if they'd only GET IT!"
